Special Projects HVAC Mechanic

Moore's Electrical & Mechanical is currently seeking an experienced Commercial and/or Industrial HVAC Mechanic in the Reidsville area for our Service Special Projects Division. This position is a good mix of Service and Installation of HVAC systems in Commercial and Industrial facilities.

Required Skills:

  • Understanding of HVAC systems (DX and hydronic)
  • Basic to above average knowledge of standalone system controls and wiring
  • Understanding of proper refrigerant piping installation to include split systems
  • Understanding of hydronic systems (chilled and hot water) including piping concepts, pumps, and controls devices
  • Basic understanding of electrical wiring, high voltage controls, and safety practices
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and submittals
  • High level of troubleshooting ability
  • Able to work independently
  • Willingness to take the time to produce a high-quality product in a highly dynamic work environment
  • Average computer skills
  • A positive attitude and great oral and written communication skills are a must
  • Valid Driver's License

Preferred Skills:

  • Understanding of proper VRF system installations including condensation management piping
  • Basic understanding of steam
  • Basic understanding of testing, adjusting, and balancing procedures
  • Lifting as much as 85 pounds
  • Usage of hands to handle and control tools and equipment
  • Experience with ductwork
  • Work outdoors, exposed to weather
  • Exposure to loud sounds and high noise levels
  • Work in high locations, climb ladders and/or scaffolding, and repetitive overhead tasks
  • Work in cramped, awkward, and/or confined spaces; ability to kneel, bend, crouch, or stoop for prolonged periods of time
